Vi fyller 38 år – och det ska firas!

We turn 38 – and it's time to celebrate!

What is Kingsland H.A.X? H.A.X is Kingsland's fit system for riding breeches where the same size is available in different body shapes. The H-form is developed for a straighter figure with narrower hips, the A-form provides more space over hips and thighs but a narrower waist, and the X-form is adapted for a more defined waist and curvy/athletic figure. Kingsland recommends choosing your usual riding breeches size and then the H-, A-, or X-form that best matches your body shape.

Kingsland H.A.X – riding breeches based on body shape, not just size

Same size. Different bodies. Kingsland's H.A.X system is based on a fairly obvious idea: why should all riders with size 38 be expected to fit in exactly the same cut?

Finding the right riding breeches should be easy.

You know roughly what size you usually have. You choose color. Full grip or knee grip. Done.

Yet many recognize the same problem.

The riding breeches fit over the thighs – but gap at the waist.

They fit perfectly at the waist – but are too tight over the hips.

Or you go up a size to fit over the legs and end up with too much fabric elsewhere.

The problem doesn't necessarily have to be that you have the wrong size.

The problem might be that you have the wrong fit for your body shape.

That's exactly where Kingsland's H.A.X system becomes interesting.

Kingsland's idea is “same size, different shapes”: keep your usual riding breeches size, but then choose an H-, A-, or X-form based on how your body is proportioned.

It sounds like a small change.

In practice, it changes the whole way we can think when trying on riding breeches.

Swedish equestrian sport

38 years of horses, people, knowledge, development, and a lot of fun. On Saturday, October 3rd, we invite you to a birthday party at our store in Kungsbacka – and of course, we want to celebrate with you who made the journey possible.

The most important thing over our 38 years? You.

It's easy to talk about stores, products, brands, and years.

But without our customers, there would be no Svensk Ridsport to celebrate 38 years with.

  • You who have shopped with us since Vallgatan.
  • You who found us on Kabelgatan.
  • You who visit us at competitions and fairs.
  • You who discovered us through our e-commerce.
  • And you who have just started riding and are stepping through the door for the first time.

It's together with you that we want to celebrate.

That's why we've put together a day where we want to give back a little extra – with knowledge, inspiration, competitions, offers, premieres, and loads of new products.

Meet the people behind some of the biggest brands in equestrian sports

One of the things we are most proud of is the knowledge in our store.

During the anniversary day, we are further strengthening the team.

Representatives and product experts from a wide range of brands will be on site to show products, answer questions, and help you find the right fit.

You will be able to meet representatives from:

Ariat, Kingsland, Freejump, Lippo, HorseLife, Lami-Cell, Schockemöhle, Antarès, KEP, EGO7, Moretta, Leovet, NAF, Trikem, Stierna, Mountain Horse, Sprenger, Waldhausen, Kask, Parlanti, eQuick, Vestrum and Stübben.

This is a perfect opportunity if you want to:

  • try equipment,
  • compare models,
  • get help with size and fit,
  • understand the difference between various technical solutions,
  • or simply geek out with people who really know their products.

Several other of our brands are also participating with great prizes and activities during the day, including Odelberg Jewelry, QHP, Penelope Leprevost, Flex-on, Pikeur, Eskadron, LeMieux and Kentucky Horsewear.

The store is restocked

Autumn news

The store is restocked with autumn news from all our brands to offer our customers an inspiring shopping day.

This fall's major product news gathered in one place

Fall is one of the most exciting times of the year in the equestrian store.

New collections arrive almost every day, and the store is currently full of fall colors, materials, and technical innovations.

During the celebration, you have the opportunity to see and try several of the season's most exciting launches.

New helmets and safety products

The safety area continues to develop rapidly, and during the day we highlight several of this year's new products.

You have the opportunity to take a closer look at and try new helmet models from LeMieux and Flex-on.

KEP is also present to show how great the possibilities are to create a personalized KEP helmet through different colors, materials, and details.

For those considering a new helmet, it's a perfect opportunity to compare different options and get help with fit and model selection.

Schockemöhle's new bridle collection

Schockemöhle presents its new collection of bridles.

Here, classic fine leather meets a much more expressive design – with glitter, details, and colors we are not used to seeing on bridles before.

Perfect for those who appreciate functionality and like their equipment to stand out a bit.

Lippo Eccelente comes in black

One of our most popular collections also gets a long-awaited addition.

Lippo Eccelente finally comes in black.

Of course, the new color is available to discover in the store during the anniversary day.

Kungsparksvägen 2

Welcome to us

In 2023, we took the next big step and moved to our current store at Kungsparksvägen 2 – a full 1,800 square meters filled with products for horse and rider.

Early Bird – first chance at this year's advent calendar

Yes, it's true.

Even though the party's date only shows October, Christmas is sneaking into Swedish Equestrian Sports.

Our advent calendar has become something of a tradition and is usually one of the most requested products of the year.

During the 38th anniversary celebration, visitors get the first opportunity to secure this year's Swedish Equestrian Sports advent calendar.

  • Do you want to be sure to get one?

Then October 3rd is a date to mark in your calendar.

38 years certainly calls for 38%

After all, it's a birthday party.

And we think the number 38 should also be visible among the offers.

Throughout the day, several offers will match our age – a full 38% on selected products.

In addition, expect:

  • launch offers,
  • products included,
  • special offers from our brands,
  • and other anniversary finds only available during the party.

We won't reveal everything in advance.

There should be some reasons to come here too.

Competitions, prizes, and chances to win all day

A party without gifts would be quite boring.

So we turn it around.

You are the ones who should receive the gifts.

Throughout the day, you can participate in several competitions and activities with a chance to win products from our suppliers and brands.

Odelberg Jewelry, QHP, Ekkia, Flex-on, Pikeur, Eskadron, LeMieux, Kentucky Horsewear, and many others contribute to the day's prize table.

Keep an eye out both in the store and on our social media before the event – more details to come.

No party without refreshments

Of course, there will be refreshments.

And bubbly.

And other treats.

So whether you're coming to try a new riding helmet, talk bridles with Schockemöhle, discover the autumn collections, or just accompany someone else planning to shop for three hours, there's a reason to sit down for a while.

A party should be a party.

The year was 2022

The horse show

In 2022, we filled Billdals Ridklubb with three days of fair, clinics, lectures, and a real horse party under the name: The Horse Show.

Full seat or knee patch breeches – what should I choose?

There is no universal right answer here.

It largely depends on how much grip you want to feel against the saddle.

Full Grip – more contact with the saddle

In a Full Grip model, there is silicone/grip material over a larger part of the seat and inside of the legs.

This can provide a more stable and 'fixed' feeling in the saddle.

Many dressage riders appreciate full grip because the seat is such a central part of communication, but Full Grip is of course used in all disciplines.

KLKira H, KLKimi A, and KLKhloe X are available in Full Grip versions at Svensk Ridsport.

Knee Grip – more freedom of movement

Knee Grip places the silicone primarily around the knee area.

You still get grip against the saddle, but the seat can feel freer.

It is popular among many show jumpers, but here too the choice is more about personal feel than discipline rules.

KLKira and several other H-shaped models are available with Knee Grip.

How we would choose

Do you often feel that the silicone 'locks' you too much?

Try Knee Grip.

Do you want to feel more stability through the seat?

Try Full Grip.

The best grip is the one you stop thinking about when you ride.

High or regular waist on breeches?

Waist height is not just a style question.

It also affects how the breeches feel when you sit in the saddle.

A higher waist can provide more support over the torso and reduce the feeling of the breeches sliding down when you sit.

For riders with a clear difference between waist and hip measurements, a higher, more shaped waistband can also help reduce gaps.

This is, for example, a central part of the X-form KLKhloe, where Kingsland combines more space over the hip and seat with a high, defining waistband.

A regular or mid-rise waist can, on the other hand, feel freer for those who do not like much material over the stomach.

So there is no 'best' model here either.

The waist should follow the body – not cut through it.

What does four-way stretch mean?

Four-way stretch means that the fabric can stretch both horizontally and vertically.

For breeches, it is especially useful because the body moves in many directions at once when you ride.

Kingsland uses four-way stretch through the H.A.X program and combines it in several models with high-density woven materials that should retain their shape over time.

This is the difference between:

tight

and

flexible.

A good pair of breeches should fit close to the body without feeling like the material is working against you.

What does compression in breeches mean?

Several H.A.X models use materials with a compression effect.

This primarily means that the material provides a tighter, more supportive, and shape-holding feel around the body.

For example, in KLKira and KLKhloe, compression is combined with four-way stretch, providing support without the material becoming stiff.

This is an important balance.

Too much compression without sufficient stretch can feel restrictive.

Too soft material without shape stability can instead start to slide and lose its shape.

Why we find H.A.X interesting

Breeches are a product category where we have long accepted that fit issues should be solved by going up or down a size.

But size and body shape are two different things.

A rider with a narrow waist and stronger thighs should not have to buy a too-large waist to fit the legs.

And a rider with a straighter figure should not have excess fabric around the hips just because the leg length is right.

That's why the H.A.X idea feels so logical:

Same size. Different bodies.

At Svensk Ridsport, you can find Kingsland H.A.X in several models today, including KLKira H, KLKimi A, and KLKhloe X, as well as both Full Grip and Knee Grip options.

And if you still don't know which to choose?

Then our best advice is unusually analog:

try two forms side by side.

The difference can be significantly greater than trying two different sizes of the same breeches.
