Loose rings provide direct contact with immediate release, where the pressure on the tongue and bars ceases as soon as the rider releases the rein and the bit returns to a neutral position in the horse's mouth. The Buster Roller's center piece is shortened to 40 mm, which increases the pressure on the bars and tongue and makes the bit sharper than conventional three-piece bits. The increased pressure on the bars has a lifting effect, and the roller increases the pressure on the tongue, causing the horse to tuck its head in. Best suited for horses that go with a low head carriage and lean on the bit.
