Numnahs

A numnah is a specific type of saddle pad placed directly under the saddle to protect the horse's back from pressure, friction, and sweat. Unlike a saddle cloth, a numnah is usually oval or round in shape and follows the contours of the saddle more precisely. Numnahs are very popular in the Icelandic horse world, where riders often use saddles that are shorter and more anatomically shaped. Since Icelandic horses have more compact backs and specific saddle types, the rounded and discreet shape of the numnah is an excellent fit.
