Kep helmets come in two different outer shell sizes, Medium or Large. You adjust the size by attaching an inner pad. The Medium shell fits inner pads 51–58 and the Large shell fits inner pads 59 to 62.
The inner pads are available in two different versions depending on head shape, oval or round. The oval pad is a bit more padded on the sides than the round one so that the helmet sits securely on the head. The size may feel 1-2 sizes smaller with the oval pad.
The fit of the helmet is very important for both comfort and maximum protection. To find your size, measure the circumference of your head above the ears to the middle of the forehead with a measuring tape.
- Ventilation: The patented “Air Control System” developed by KEP allows you to regulate the ventilation in the helmet so it always feels comfortable and cool.
- Weight: The lightweight material in the helmet means that a helmet from KEP usually weighs only around 400 grams.
- Lining: The inner pad in the helmet is easily replaceable, which means a larger or smaller size can be created without having to buy a new helmet. The inner pad can be washed at 30 degrees and extra inner pads are easy to purchase.
- Chin strap: The helmet has a patented five-point fastening, which prevents the helmet from moving forward. The chin strap is made of anti-allergic and washable soft leather and is easy to adjust.
- Cleaning: The KEP helmet comes in a protective helmet bag and with a KEP-clean polishing cloth, with which you can easily clean the helmet.
In Cromo 2.0 helmets, a small plastic frame is included that you can put in place when you remove the regular visor. For example, if you are going to ride eventing and ride without a visor.
The helmet is approved according to the new standard CE EN1384:2023.
